The Aaron Fund
The Aaron Fund, the Endowment Fund of Redeemer Lutheran Huntington Beach, has been established to support the congregation's future work. The Fund's name remembers faithful Aaron, who supported and assisted his brother Moses as he led the children of Israel out of bondage in Egypt and to the Promised Land.
The goal of the Fund is to provide faithful support to the ministry of Redeemer Lutheran Church as it serves God's people today -- and for years to come.
By establishing the Aaron Fund, Redeemer Lutheran has created a fund to receive offerings whose use will be for the purposes of education, music, ministry, missions, evangelism and capital improvements, consistent with the purposes of the Church (and not to be used for the meeting of ordinary and necessary expenses).
Gifts to the Aaron Fund can be made upon the death of a family member or friend; those offerings are given in thanksgiving for God's work, as a testimony of His work to future generations, so that the memory of the righteous will be a blessing. The Aaron Fund has been established to receive offerings for any occasion, be it a memorial, wedding, anniversary, baptism or personal thanksgiving. The Fund can also receive gifts from wills, trusts and other estate planning documents.
For example, when a death has occurred, the family may choose to notify others that, in lieu of flowers or as a memorial, a gift to the Aaron Fund at Redeemer Lutheran Church is preferred.
Redeemer Lutheran, through the use of this Fund, desires to bring honor and glory to the Kingdom of our Lord and to support the work that our Lord has given us to do.
Materials containing the establishing documents or by-laws of the Aaron Fund may be obtained from the church office at 714-846-6330.
What happens to the Offerings entrusted to the Aaron Fund?
The intent of the Aaron Fund is to support work not usually supported through the general congregational budget. Gifts given to the Aaron Fund are professionally invested to ensure growth and safety. Interest generated by the Fund may be used for projects recommended by the Endowment Committee and approved by the Church Council. Members of the congregation may propose projects to the Endowment Committee at any time.
The Aaron Fund will also accept and honor gifts designated for a specific purpose. For example, an individual may specify that a gift from his/her estate be used for support of the pre-school or choir.
The Aaron Fund is overseen by the Endowment Committee, a committee of up to five members of the congregation, one of whom is the congregation's Treasurer.
The Treasurer of the congregation provides reports of the financial activities to the Church Council on a monthly basis and to the congregation at regular Voter's meetings, and members of the congregation always have access to the status of the congregation's stewardship.
How may a gift be made to the Aaron Fund?
Gifts to the Aaron Fund may be made in a variety of ways at the discretion of the donor including:
